Defending champions Manchester City travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich City in the Premier League on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s men are currently 2 points behind Liverpool, who have won each of their first 4 games. City, on the other hand, drew 2-2 with Tottenham at the Etihad, in their second league game of the season, dropping points.
They did dispatch West Ham, Bournemouth and Brighton with relative ease in the other games though. Liverpool look like the only threat to City’s title defense and once again, the fight is expected to go down until the very end.
For now, the visiting side will look to keep winning and nothing short of 3 points will be on the agenda against Norwich on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Norwich City played much better than their league position indicates, a lowly 19th right in the relegation zone. They were not helped by the fixtures either, facing Liverpool, Chelsea and now Manchester City in their first five fixtures on their return to the top-flight.
Daniel Farke’s men are playing some good football and will be eagerly waiting for the fixtures to turn, as they face the likes of Burnley, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Bournemouth in the next 4 games after this one.
While City will look to dominate and win the game, Norwich will hope to use the home advantage and the form of Teemu Pukki to potentially grab a result at Carrow Road.
In terms of team news, Guardiola will be without Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte with knee injuries. Benjamin Mendy’s fitness continues to be an issue while John Stones and Gabriel Jesus are expected to be fit for this game. Ilkay Gundogan should be okay after pulling out of international duty due to illness.
For the hosts, Farke will be without Tom Trybull, Onel Hernandez, and Timm Klose with long-term injuries. Christoph Zimmermann will very likely miss out while Grant Hanley is expected to recover from a muscle injury for this game.
Head-To-Head and Norwich City vs Manchester City Betting Tips
Looking at head-to-head, both sides have met 8 times in the PL this decade with Norwich winning and drawing once while losing the remaining 6 times. The last meeting between the sides was back in 2016 when the Canaries held City to a 0-0 draw at home.
In those 8 games, City scored 26 goals compared to Norwich’s 9, highlighting the dominance of the Citizens while suggesting that another high-scoring game could be on the cards. So far, games involving Farke’s side have seen 16 goals while City’s games have witnessed 17 goals.
Thus, Pep Guardiola’s men can be expected to pick up another 3 points in a high-scoring affair with goals expected to be Over 2.5.
