Pakistan vs Australia ODI Series Preview and Bet Tips

Australia

The Australian team would be on cloud nine after a series win over one of the biggest contenders for the World Cup. The Australians won both the T20I and ODI series in India and have slowly started gaining some serious momentum before the World Cup begins.

The team looks to be in top form right now. Finch is finally having some semblance of confidence in his batting. Khwaja was in prolific form and in Maxwell, Stoinis and Turner they’ve got a bunch of finishers in there who are performing reliably.

The bowling unit that still waits for Starc and Hazelwood to come back has been on fire with Pat Cummins in top form, ably supported by Jhye Richardson in the pace and Zampa in the spin department. The Aussies seem to have put the past of Ball-Tempering behind them and will be looking to ride the momentum further in this series.

The player under the spotlight

Shaun Marsh has been in superb form in ODIs scoring Hundreds against India and South Africa in Australia and even against England in England. He suffered a minor blip in the recent ODI series in India and would be looking to make it business as usual again.

Probable XI: Aaron Finch, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, Ashton Turner, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Lyon, Adam Zampa

Pakistan

Pakistan, on the other hand, has rested quite a few of their important players before the series. Players like Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, and Hasan Ali have been rested. Strangely even Sarafarz Ahmed who was supposed to return after serving his ban has also been rested.

With Shoaib Malik leading the team it would be interesting to see the team that Pakistan fields and what is the thought process behind fielding such a beleaguered unit.

The player under the spotlight

Getting thrust into the role of captaincy might have come as a surprise for Shoaib Malik but in the last leg of his career, it would be interesting to see how he fares both as a captain and as a batsman.

Probable XI: Shoaib Malik, Abid Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Sohail, Imad Wasim, Imam-ul-Haq, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Abbas , Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Rizwan, Saad Ali, Shan Masood, Umar Akmal, Usman Shinwari, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Hasnain

Pakistan vs Australia ODI Series Preview and Bet Tips

A high on confidence Australia would be more than a match for what is essentially a Pakistan A team. The conditions could work in Pakistan’s favour but you would expect Australia to be well acclimatized with the conditions by now. We might see Pakistan sneak a win here and there but Australia should prevail this time around.
