Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Lakers Preview and Prediction

The Oklahoma City Thunder will take on the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA League at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Tuesday night, with Thunder hoping to snap their two-game losing streak and Lakers looking forward for a third straight win in the competition.

Oklahoma City Thunder was defeated 106-103 at home by Dallas in their last game on Sunday afternoon. Lakers heads into this contest after thrashing the Pelicans in a 130-102 road win on Sunday. Thunder and Lakers have split their first two meetings with the Lakers winning the last meeting.

Dallas stunned Oklahoma City despite playing the game without star Luka Doncic. Dallas made a confident start and took a 7 point lead in the opening quarter. Thunder cut the lead to two in the second quarter and also came back strong with a two point lead, 64-62 during the third quarter. But, the Mavericks bounced back with 5 point lead by the end of the quarter. Again, the Thunder got the chance to pull the game in the fourth quarter, 101-100, but the late dunk from Dwight Powell sends Mavericks to victory.

Pelicans took one point lead in the first-half of the game. Then, Lakers dominated Pelicans from start to finish in the second half, winning 130-102. Rajon Rondo led the Lakers with 24 points, five rebounds and 12 assists, JaVale McGee contributed 23 points and Alex Caruso scored 23 points.

The Thunder heads to this game with two straight defeats against the Nuggets and Mavericks. The team are on a struggling run of form for the last few weeks, losing seven of their nine games causing the team to drop to eighth in the Western Conference. The Thunder enters this game with a 3-7 record in their last 10 games and a 24-14 mark at home. The club has averaged 114 points on shooting and allowed 111 points per game.

The Lakers have performed exceptionally well in recent weeks, winning four out of five games in the tournament. The team heads into this game with two consecutive wins against the Hornets and Pelicans. The club are officially eliminated from playoff contention as they sits tenth in the Western Conference table with a 4-6 record in their last 10 games and are 14-25 in away games this season.

Thunder heads to this contest as clear favorites, despite dropping the two games last weekend. Thunder is expected to win this game here with a good margin.
