NBA 2019 Chicago Bulls vs Portland Trail Blazers Preview and Prediction

The Chicago Bulls will take on Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night at the United Center, with Bulls aiming to end the season on a high note and Blazers hoping to continue their good form in the NBA 2019 League.

Chicago Bulls was defeated by Toronto Raptors 112-103 Tuesday night in their last contest. Portland Blazers won a thriller over Brooklyn Nets 148-144 in double overtime in their previous game.

The Bulls (21-53) sits thirteenth in the Eastern Conference standings and are officially eliminated from the play-off contention. The Blazers (46-27) are placed third in the Western Conference ladder, four games behind Golden State for the first position.

Bulls made a slow start and never had a lead in the game against Raptors. The Raptors outscored the Bulls 26-18 in the first quarter and took a 15 point lead till the end of first half. The Bulls managed to cut the lead to 10 during the fourth quarter but couldn’t prevent Raptors from winning this game.

Chicago Bulls Star Lauri Markkanen left the game after shooting 2 for 10 in 16 first-half minutes due to fatigue. Wayne Selden scored 20 points and Shaquille Harrison added 15 points for the Bulls.

Portland made a confident start against Nets, taking the lead of four after the opening quarter. Then, the club faltered badly and couldn’t maintain their momentum till the fourth quarter, sending the game to tie at 120-120, and force overtime. The first OT was tied at 12-12 and then Blazers bounced back in the second overtime to register a thrilling double-overtime win. Blazers top scorer Nurkic who contributed with 32 points and 16 rebounds suffered his left leg injury in the second overtime of the game.

Chicago is in disastrous form through-out the season and heads to this game with two defeats in a row after winning the previous two games. The club are in such bad shape in recent weeks that they lost seven of their last nine games. The team will miss the playoffs for the second successive season and the third time in the past four years. The Chicago Bulls have averaged 106 points on shooting and allowed 114 points per game.

The Portland Trailblazers are in exceptional form for the last few weeks having won seven of their last eight games and enters into this game with four straight wins against Pacers, Mavericks, Pistons and Nets. The Portland Trail Blazers have averaged 115 points on shooting and allowed 111 points per game.

Portland heads to this contest as clear favorites and also the club have proved themselves to be a pretty consistent performer on the road this season. Portland Blazers is expected to win this game here with a good margin.
