Levante will host Granada at the Ciutat de Valencia in the La Liga on Saturday.
Levante Match Preview
Despite losing their last game, Levante are on course to better their finish from last season comfortably. They finished in 15th place last May, and currently, Levante are in 11th spot. The danger of relegation is all but gone, and they will hope to get into the top half in the coming weeks. Athletic Bilbao in 10th place are just two points above as it stands. Levante have lost three out of the last five league games they have played.
The latest of those losses came at the hands of Eibar on Saturday. Eibar recorded a 3-0 win in which they thoroughly dominated Levante. Coach Paco Lopez will want to bounce back from that loss as soon as possible. Before that loss against Eibar, Levante claimed an impressive win over Real Madrid. The Los Blancos were leading the league at the time, but Levante shocked them with a 1-0 win. Captain Jose Luis Morales scored the only goal of the game for Levante.
Roger Marti is their top scorer this season with ten goals to his name. He has not scored in the last three games, but he is a key player for them nevertheless. Real Madrid loanee Borja Mayoral has been a good acquisition this season for Levante. He has scored five times and has provided goo company to Marti in their formation.
Granada Match Preview
Granada are even above Levante, and they are gunning for a European spot. They currently occupy the ninth place and are unbeaten in their last three games. In those three games, Granada have won twice. Last weekend Granada hosted Celta Vigo and that game ended in a goalless draw. Granada had less possession, but they had 14 efforts on goal in the game. But out of those not even one was on target, and they were toothless in the final third at times.
However, Granada are used to having less of the ball in most games. In their last win which came against Osasuna, they had just 38% possession. Despite that, they recorded a 3-0 win with relative ease. All three goals came in the first half on that day. Their last came in the Copa del Rey, as they faced Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final second leg. Despite going 2-0 up, they eventually lost 2-1 to get knocked out on away goals.
The only meeting between Levante and Granada in the last three years came in the reverse fixture in December. Levante claimed a 2-1 win at Los Carmenes. Enis Bardhi scored a late winner in that game to hand the three points to Levante.
Levante vs Granada Soccer Betting Tips
This game will be a close one, but Granada will be the slight favorites to get the three points. Despite last weekend’s loss, they are in good form. Their counter-attacking style will cause problems for Levante, and they should get the three points. The total goals should be Under 2.5 in this game.
