Head to Head: RCB 9-14 KKR
RCB vs KKR Preview
Trying not to sound disrespectful to Parthiv Patel, If your team has Parthiv Patel as the top run scorer it’s usually not good news. Especially when the team has players like Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers and Shimron Hetmyer in the wings. There’s no better way to put it than saying that RCB is staring down the barrel in huge trouble right now.
The batting unit is struggling, the bowling unit has Yuzvendra Chahal and then no one to back him and the fielding unit just dropped for 4 catches in the last match. With such baggage, they march into their next game at their home ground in Bangalore hoping to bag their first win against a juggernaut of a unit.
KKR, on the other hand, have all the resources they need to win. What they’ve not done well is put them to use optimally. It’s beyond understanding why Shubhman Gill was not given a chance to open the innings and maybe if Narine has still not recovered then the youngster should be just sent to open on a belter of a track and given a chance to announce himself to the world on the big stage.

Form Guide (LLLL)
Not much to write about the team here, they need to start performing is what all can be said about them right now. Too much of chopping and changing has really harmed the team’s prospects and maybe it’s about time they finally put a pin on one guy who will open with Parthiv instead of playing this ridiculous game of musical chairs by switching openers every next game. Marcus Stoinis has done the job admirably in BBL and maybe it’s about time they just put him at that slot and leave him there.
The player under the spotlight
The current plight of RCB does seem to be affecting Virat Kohli a lot and it was quite evident even in his batting when he came in with the aim of batting through the innings. There’s nothing wrong with that except the mindset led to Kohli cutting down on his usual aggressive self. The equation is simple for RCB if they have to win then either of both of Kohli and AB would need to make a sizable contribution to the score.
Probable XI: Parthiv Patel, Marcus Stoinis, Virat Kohli, Moeen Ali, AB De Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Akshdeep Nath, Shivam Dube, Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj

Form Guide (LWW)
The only issue that KKR is currently facing is the under-performing top order. They’ve tried Narine, Rana, and Naik in that position alongside Chris Lynn but none of them have set the stage on fire. Naik’s inclusion was a massive failure in the last match and maybe opening with Shubhman Gill is worth a punt. On the other hand, they might look to bring in Carlos Brathwaite in place of Naik
The player under the spotlight
Chris Lynn’s regular failures and inability to score big in this tournament have put the top order under the scanner one too many times in this tournament. The fact that Uthappa got the nod over Lynn in the super over is a testament to that. He’ll need to start performing soon else KKR could be looking at options beyond him as they can’t rely on Russell every game to help them put a total.
The conditions in Bangalore are conducive for a score in the region of 200. Bangalore might be looking to bat first and put up a large score on the board while Kolkata on their part would be backing themselves to chase down anything that is put in front of them.
IPL RCB vs KKR Preview and Prediction
Kolkata is a much more balanced side and is probably one of the worst opponents that Bangalore could have run into while they try to get back to winning form.
For this match and conditions Kolkata start as the outright favorites with RCB really relying on some kind of heroics to cause an upset.
