CSK vs SRH Preview
It’s slightly tough to pick this one, on the one hand, we have Chennai that is at the top of the leader-board but is struggling with a lack of some big runs from the top order. The team has been kept together by MS Dhoni, but you’ve got to ask how much one man can do. He almost single-handedly won them the last game as well, but others need to stand up now.
On the other hand, we have Hyderabad that would be bidding farewell to one of its most significant contributors in this tournament. Johnny Bairstow will be leaving for international duties after this fixture, and it would be ringing some alarm bells for the Sunrisers.
The teams collide in Chennai, a CSK fortress with the conditions heavily favoring the home side and with the visitors having notched up an easy win in their previous encounter. Things could get very interesting here.
Chennai Super Kings
Form Guide (LLWWW)
Watson hasn’t been in the best of forms with the bat, he hardly bowls these days and is a liability in the field. Chennai was expecting a lot more from him than what he has delivered and with someone as fresh as agile and as prodigious a talent as Sam Billings just waiting in the wings and warming the bench it’s worth a punt to give him a chance at the top. On the other side expect Harbhajan to make a comeback into the eleven as well as Chennai boost their spin reserves.
The player under the spotlight
Much was expected of Rayudu after he was dropped from the world cup squad but he hasn’t really set the world on fire with his batting. He did help in stabilizing the innings in the last match but it was an all-out Dhoni show. With the top order struggling like crazy Chennai would be looking at Rayudu to step up now and help put some runs on the board.
Probable XI: Sam Billings, Faf Du Plessis, Ambati Rayadu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh
Form Guide (WWLLL)
Hyderabad has played like a rejuvenated bunch in the last two games. They had Chennai under the pump, and then they never allowed KKR to get away with the game. The issue with Hyderabad remains dubiously under-performing middle order and somehow their reluctance to prefer Yusuf Pathan over a probably more established Manish Pandey. On a pitch where runs are tough to get, the middle over would be put under the scanner, and the result could ultimately depend on how it responds.
The player under the spotlight
Bairstow has shown why he is England’s opener in ODIs. He’s at his destructive best alongside Warner, and there’s hardly been anything to pick between the two. With this being the last game before he flies off for International duties, he would be looking to make a mark because him leaving would leave a massive hole in the Hyderabad team.
Probable XI: David Warner, Johnny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, Yusuf Pathan, Deepak Hooda, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Shahbaz Nadeem, Khaleel Ahmed
The pitches in Chennai have been the slowest of the whole tournament and Chennai has been relishing it throughout the IPL tournament. A score of around 140-150, if achieved, is going to be very tough to overhaul.
CSK vs SRH Betting Tips
Chennai would be irritated at having lost the top spot in the table and would be looking at this match as an opportunity to put down the marker yet again. Home advantage, loads of spinning option, a team with a dicey middle order. A lot of things seem to be going Chennai’s way which makes it our favorite to win this encounter.
