Head to Head:KXIP 13-9 DC
KXIP vs DC Preview
It has to be said that both the teams are coming off unexpected victories in their respective matches against Mumbai and Kolkata as neither were actually expected to score wins.
Punjab, thanks to contribution from all the batsmen in their top order reached the total in a canter and would feel pretty confident heading into this fixture. The team has until now overachieved in a way as it has notched up victories against Rajasthan and Mumbai and the credit must be given to their batsmen for getting the runs on board whenever the situation demanded.
Delhi on the other hand would be delighted by the all round performance of not only their batsmen but their bowlers as well. That super over from Rabada is going to go down as one of the finest of the tournament and finally when they square off on a Mohali pitch that could offer help for their seamers they would be backing themselves to make the most of it.
Kings XI Punjab
Hardus Viljoen contributed ably in the previous match and should be making the side. Punjab surely doesn’t have the best players but for now has been able to put together a really balanced unit in this tournament. With Gayle, Rahul, Agarwal, Sarfaraz and Miller all in good form they have a pretty good batting unit with the the bowling unit having decent stability provided by the two Ashwins, Shami and the rest. It’s highly likely Punjab will field the same eleven.
The player under the spotlight
KL Rahul despit putting in a match winning effort is still not completely out of the jail yet. He’s been woefully out of form and the previous game should be the ideal platform for him to start scoring big for Punjab.
Probable XI: Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Mayank Aggarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller, Mandeep Singh, Ravi Ashwin, Hardus Viljoen, Mohammed Shami, Andrew Tye

Delhi finally got the combination right against Kolkata but the question mark for them would be whether they make the changes looking at the pitch? Whether Trent Boult would return considering the help that the Mohali pitch is known to provide fast bowlers or whether Ishant Sharma makes a return as well? If they do, they would be replacing the likes of Morris and Patel. Both of whom had pretty good outings in the last match. In terms of stability, the team might look to field the same unit again.
The player under the spotlight
Rishab pant hasn’t really got going in the last 2 matches of the IPL as the slow nature of pitches in Delhi has just not suited him. As he returns to the fast natured tracks of Mohali he would be looking to make an impact yet again as he surely is one of the players contending for a slot in the WC squad.
Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer (c), Colin Ingram, Hanuma Vihari, Chris Morris, Sandeep Lamichhane, Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Harshal Patel
The pitch is expected to be on the faster side and conducive for stroke-play as well. What would be encouraging for the bowlers is the long boundaries on this ground and the batsman would really have to time it well for it to go the distance. A score in the region of 180-190 in the first innings should be the target.

KXIP vs DC Preview and Prediction
The Delhi Pace battery would relish the opportunity to bowl on a livelier pitch at Mohali and it does seem like that could be the difference between the two squads. Delhi has a better bowling attack in comparison to Punjab and that could see them getting the coming out on top in the battle between the two.
