India vs Australia 1st T20I Prediction

India has been on an impressive run of form since the beginning of the Australia and New Zealand tours. The team rewrote history books in Australia by winning the Test and the One Day International series, followed by winning the the four-match Test series and ODI series against New Zealand, but the team’s performance faltered as they lost the T20I series against New Zealand 2-1. India’s 2-1 defeat to Kiwis in the recently concluded T20 series marks the end of their winning streak that extended to ten series across all competitions.

Both teams have already met in T20I series last year which ended in a draw of the three-match series 1-1. Australia won the first T20I in the tight contest and took a 1-0 lead, followed by the the second T20I match that was abandoned due to rain and then India won the last T20I match by six wickets and drew the series.

India picked up their squads for the three-game T20I and five-match ODI series against Australia on Friday. The respective Board of Control for Cricket have named 15-member squad with few interesting inclusions and exclusions to the side. The team have included KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Mayank Markande to the side, but excluded Shubman Gill and Dinesh Karthik from the India’s squad.

India vs Australia 1st T20I Prediction

Australia will miss Mitchell Starc due to “substantial” muscle tear, Josh Hazlewood due to stress fracture in the back, and Steve Smith and David Warner banned for an year following their involvement in the infamous ball-tampering scandal in South Africa in the T20I and ODI series in India, but are expected to play this year’s World Cup in England.

Meanwhile, India have a world-class squad and are a dominant unit in T20Is and ODIs with an incredible top order, strong middle-order batters, and the world’s best spin attack. India have an upper hand considering their past performances against Australia. We predict India will win this game here.
