Five Football teenagers who have the world at their feet

Every football academy in the world is teeming with youngsters. They all want to play football at the very top, but few get to taste that dream. Some young players even go further. They start achieving things in the game from a tender age itself. As a result, we can see numerous teenagers plying their trade in big clubs throughout Europe. On that note, here are the five of the best among them.

5. Vinicius Jr.

Many people raised their eyebrows when Real Madrid splashed a hefty fee of £38.7m for Vinicius last summer. But as the season progressed, his potential was clear to see. His playing time was limited due to injury issues, but he was one of the few bright sparks in a dour Real Madrid season. Blessed with high pace and trickery on the wing, Vinicius is a nightmare for opposing defenders. He should recover and come back stronger next season under Zinedine Zidane.

4. Joao Felix

The Benfica teenager has taken the Primeira Liga by storm this season. Aged just 19, Felix has recorded 14 goals and seven assists in the league for Benfica this season. They are favorites to win the league, and Felix is one of the primary reasons why. The attacking midfielder is technically gifted, and he has a knack of turning up in goal-scoring positions. Many clubs want his services, and he could be off to greener pastures in the summer.

3. Kai Havertz

Just like Felix, Havertz has taken his league by storm. Playing for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, he has broken the shackles this season. From an attacking midfield role, Havertz has scored 16 league goals this season. He is capable with both feet, and his aerial ability is excellent as well. The German has a knack for goals, and he has 19 in all competitions this season. He could well follow into the footsteps of national legends like Michael Ballack and Toni Kroos.

2. Matthijs de Ligt

Just like Ajax, Matthijs de Ligt has taken huge steps this season. The center-back has led and captained his side in their run to the Champions League semi-finals. Ajax are favorites to win the Eredivisie as well, and de Ligt deserves a lot of the credit. The center-back possesses maturity beyond his years, both on and off the pitch. He is a capable and robust defender and could be joining Barcelona in the summer.

1. Jadon Sancho

Since joining Borussia Dortmund in 2017, Sancho’s career has taken a turn for the better. He was stagnating at Manchester City, and the decision to move to Germany has paid off. The current season has been his best by a long margin. Sancho has 11 goals and 14 assists in the Bundesliga this season as Dortmund have mounted a credible title challenge. The winger is blessed with high pace, and his crossing ability is elite. He is one of the brightest England prospects to emerge in quite some time.
