Clippers vs Warriors Preview
The Los Angeles Clippers will take on the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 at the STAPLES Center on Friday night, with the Clippers aiming to continue their winning momentum in order to avoid elimination from the first round of the NBA Playoffs series and the Warriors hoping to close out the series.
Golden State started the playoffs series in style, winning the game against Clippers 121-104 at home last weekend, followed by the Clippers win in the next game by a 135-131 score and then Golden State bounced back with two consecutive wins to take a dominating 3-1 series lead. The Warriors performance faltered in Game 5 as the Clippers took a 129-121 win to take the series to 3-2.
The Warriors have displayed poor defensive performance in the 129-121 loss on Wednesday. Kevin Durant led the Warriors with 45 points on 14 of 26 shooting. Stephen Curry contributed 24 points and Klay Thompson added 22 points. Lou Williams led the Clippers with 33 points. Danilo Gallinari added 26 points and Montrezl Harrell contributed 24 points.
Clippers were considered underdogs in the playoff series, but the team are in decent form and have pushed the Warriors to a Game 6. The LA have proved this season that they would bring a depth, resiliency, mental toughness and competitive spirit when the team needs. Now, the team will be looking forward to lead the Clippers back into this series in front of the home fans.
The Warriors, on the other hand, ended the regular season with the third-best defensive rating in the NBA, but they struggled defensively in the first playoff series against the Clippers. In Game 2 and Game 5, the Warriors allowed an average of 132 points while in other games they conceded 105 points per game average. In the last game, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson combined to score a massive 91 points, but the team lost the match by eight points.
Clippers vs Warriors Prediction
Warriors blew a great opportunity to steal the first-quarter lead in Game 5, but we expect the team will came out strong in Game 6 of their best-of-seven series. We still doubt Warriors’ ability to impact a big game, so better place your bets on Total Points.
