Both Hornets and Wizards are coming off losses in their previous games in NBL 2019-20. Despite Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington good performance, the Charlotte Hornets were defeated by Atlanta Hawks with a score of 122-107 Sunday night. In another game, the Wizards lost to the Clippers 135-119 at home last night.
Wizards’ Previous Game
LA Clippers took an early lead less than four minutes into the contest and concluded the first quarter with 10-points advantage due to combined effort of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Then, the Washington started the second quarter on a 20-9 run and reduce the gap to just one point with the help of Davis Bertans at the first-half.
The Clippers made a good comeback in the second-half and took 16-points lead in the third quarter with less than 4 minutes to play, but Wizards’ Ian Mahinmi and Chris Chiozza cut the deficit to three-points in less than two minutes. The Los Angeles led by seven after three quarters and increased their lead to 15-points in Q4 to seal the victory.
Davis Bertans led the Wizards with 25 points on 9-for-16 shooting. Troy Brown Jr. scored 22 points, Bradley Beal added 20 points and Rui Hachimura chipped in 17 points.
Hornets’ Last Match
The Hornets had their ups and downs against the Hawks in the first-half, but Atlanta dominated in the second-half to dispatch Charlotte. Charlotte got off to a good start taking 2-points lead in the first half, but Atlanta took the control of the game in the second-half to register 122-107 win.
Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington each scored 20 points to lead the Hornets, while Trae Young scored an impressive 30 points, nine assists and six rebounds for the Hawks.
The Hornets is coming off a second defeat in a row and has also lost four out of five games. The club are struggling this season and are placed tenth in the Eastern Conference with a 9-16 win-loss record, 3.5 games behind the Magic for the final playoff spot. Charlotte is also lacking in both offensive and defensive end this season, scored 105.4 points per game and allowed 113.1 points per game.
The Wizards also enters into this contest after dropping two straight games and the fifth in the last six games. The team is in a terrible run of form this season and sits 12th in the East with a 7-15 record, four games behind the Magic for the final playoff spot. The Washington are good in scoring offense but are worst in defensive end, scored 118.2 points per game and allowed 122.5 points per game.
