Capitals Vs Royal Challengers Preview

A team in red hot form going against a team which was down and buried but seems to have risen through the ashes. Delhi is one team that no one expected to do this well, but every time they turn up they surprise and challenge and snap victories again and again. It just speaks how much of a difference great direction can make to really prodigious talent.

RCB, on the other hand, has been down and out for the most of the IPL until recently when they’ve suddenly just regained form and are playing well as a team. Dale Steyn has provided the team that little something that it was missing and now the bowlers and batsmen alike are starting to play as a unit.

Form Guide (WWWLW)

There’s no other team in this tournament whose success would bring more smiles on a cricketing purist’s face than Delhi Capitals because it surely is a tale of talent playing maturely. Players like Shaw, Pant, and Iyer have made the difference at various segments, and on the other end, Rabada and Ishant have been frugal with their bowling. They will look to field the same combination for this one again as it seems to be working well for them.

The player under the spotlight

Rishabh Pant showed something that could be termed as the turning point of his career if he does that with regularity from now. He acted mature and displayed sensibility by not getting reckless and playing too many shots. It would be exciting to see if he carries on playing the same brand of cricket or whether he’d be back to his old ways.

Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant, Sherfane Rutherford,Colin Ingram, Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma

Form Guide (WWWLW)

RCB boasts of one of the best records in the last few matches winning 4 of their previous five games (coincidentally so does Delhi) which is a far cry from their record earlier in the season. The team is playing well as a unit, and it doesn’t make sense to make any changes to the team except a return to the side for Dale Steyn.

The player under the spotlight

Navdeep Saini has grown from strength to strength in this tournament. He has the pace, that’s for sure but so does many others in this tournament. What’s creating the difference is how he has been able to apply himself and be effective during some tense situations. Doing this under the guidance of the Indian ODI captain can’t cause too much harm either.

Probable XI: Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers ,Moeen Ali, Shimron Hetmyer, Akshdeep Nath, Marcus Stoinis, Navdeep Saini, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dale Steyn

It’s a comparatively slower pitch with assistance for spinners, but we can expect a score of around 160-170 to be competitive either way.

Capitals Vs Royal Challengers Prediction

Home advantage, a more balanced outfit, a slower pitch and batsmen in excellent form, Delhi seems to have an edge if we consider everything.
