Barcelona will look to maintain their perfect record in the EuroLeague when they host Valencia on Wednesday.
The first four games have seen four wins for Barcelona. The average margin of those wins is 15.25, which is a very impressive number. Their points difference is 61, which is bettered by only CSKA Moscow. Barcelona opened their campaign with a 74-64 win against Anadolu Efes. The Sinan Erdem Dome is not an easy place to visit, but Barcelona got an impressive victory. Nikola Mirotic scored 24 points in that game to lead Barcelona to the win.
Kyle Kuric scored 24 in the second game as Barcelona beat Zenit 87-63. They followed that up with another comfortable win, this time against Alba Berlin. Barcelona’s last EuroLeague game was their toughest so far, a 73-65 win over Crvena zvezda. Mirotic had 21 points and 6 rebounds in that game. Unlike the EuroLeague, Barcelona have lost twice in the Liga ACB. One of those losses came on Sunday when Tecnyconta Zaragoza claimed an 89-83 win over Barcelona. Zaragoza are above Barcelona in the table, as it stands. Barcelona will look to claim their first league title since 2014.
Mirotic has been one of the outstanding players in the EuroLeague this season. He is averaging 20 points per game, which is third-best in the entire competition. Kuric is second for Barcelona with 11.75 points per game. Mirotic also leads his side in the rebounds category. His performances have put Barcelona in a strong position to make the playoffs at this early stage.
Conversely, Valencia Basket are the worst team in the entire competition. They have lost all their games, and the points difference so far is -69. In the Liga ACB, they are sixth, which is a respectable position. But the EuroLeague has not been as kind. Valencia faced CSKA Moscow in the first game and lost 96-71. Another heavy defeat followed when Olympiacos beat them 89-63. In the next two games, Anadolu Efes and Maccabi Tel Aviv were the sides who extended Valencia’s losing run.
The major problem for Valencia is their offence. Bojan Dubljevic is the only player who averages more than 10 points per game in the EuroLeague. They have been restricted to less than 70 points in two games so far, which is not a good sign. Valencia are averaging 68.75 points per game, which is the worst in the EuroLeague.
On the other hand, their defence is also one of the worst. Valencia have given up 103.75 points per game to the opponent, and only Alba Berlin have a worse tally. Coach Jaume Ponsarnau has some real problems ahead of him in the coming weeks.
Barcelona vs Valencia Betting Tips
Barcelona will be the big favorites to get the win against Valencia. Considering the state of the two teams, it would be a comfortable win for Barcelona. The margin of victory should be over ten points, and Valencia’s winless run should continue in the EuroLeague.
